Paul never visit Colosse, but, wrote this epistle while in the Roman prison and it is referred to as a prison epistle.
The Book of Colossian shows the preeminence of Christ. For Christ is the visible image of God, the agent of creation, the Sustainer, the head of the church, He pleases the Faither, reconciles us through His death, burial, and resurrection, lives in us as our hope of glory, the source of all wisdom and knowledge, we are alive in Him, for He is our life. We can avoid immorality and can bless others.
If ever we become discouraged, it’s typically because we have lost our gratitude and thankfulness or at least forgotten it. Keep your eyes on the goodness of God, and you’ll be driven and overflowing with thankfulness because of what He’s done for you, is doing for you, and will do for you!
